The International Thermoelectric Society (ITS) is pleased to announce the 2012 ITS “Scientific” and “Application” Best Paper Awards. The awards are sponsored by the International Thermoelectrics Society (ITS) and carry a cash prize of US $500 each as well as a certificate suitable for framing. The awards will be presented at the banquet of the 31st International Conference on Thermoelectrics (ICT 2012), to be held July 9-12, 2012, in Aalborg, Denmark.

The International Thermoelectric Society (ITS) announces the 2012 Outstanding Achievement in Thermoelectrics Award to recognize the outstanding achievements of a senior scientist for her/his contribution to the field of thermoelectricty. The award carries a cash prize of two thousand US dollars ($2000), honorary membership in the ITS and a Descriptive Certificate that will be presented at the Banquet of the 31st International Conference on Thermoelectrics (ICT 2012), in Aalborg, Denmark.

The International Thermoelectric Society (ITS) announces the 2012 ITS Young Investigator Award for Excellence in Research in Thermoelectrics by a young investigator who holds a researcher/engineer position in either: academia, industry, government lab or scientific institute (e.g. The Max Planck Institute). This award is to be given to a young researcher who has exhibited a record of excellent original work and significant results in the field of thermoelectrics or thermoelectric materials. The recipient should have shown significant research in the early stages of his/her career.

This is to announce that a low temperature Seebeck coefficient Standard Reference Material (SRM™ 3451) is available from NIST. SRM 3451 allows members of the thermoelectric materials community the means to calibrate Seebeck coefficient measurement equipment (for bulk materials) in the temperature range 10 K to 390 K.

On-line submission of abstracts for the ICT/ECT2012 is now open at www.ict2012.its.org. Use the "Submit Abstract" function in the top menu bar.
Abstracts should be all-text and less than 300 words. Please ensure that you select an appropriate topic, and include all authors and affiliations.
