2015 ITS Board Candidates

Four International Thermoelectric Society (ITS) Board Director positions will be opened for election at the 34th International Conference on Thermoelectrics, to be held in Dresden, Germany, June 28th-July 2th, 2015.

The Committee has made every effort to attract candidates from a variety of geographic, technical fields, and institutions, to best serve the Mission of the International Thermoelectric Society. The list of current Board Directors can be found here.

Dr. Sabah Bux selected for 2015 ITS Young Investigator Award - Partially Supported by Gentherm

Dr. Sabah Bux from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, USA, has been selected as the recipient of the 2015 International Thermoelectric Society Young Investigator Award. The award is partially sponsored with generous support from Gentherm, Inc. Dr. Bux received her PhD in chemistry in 2010 from the University of California – Los Angeles, and has been on the research staff at JPL since that time.  She has made several outstanding contributions to the synthesis, characterization, and understanding of bulk nanostructured materials. The International Thermoelectric Society is proud to announce that Mr. Lipeng Hu, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University, China, has been selected as the recipient of the 2015 ITS Goldsmid Award. Call for the 2015 ITS Graduate Student Travel Grant Applications

The International Thermoelectric Society (ITS) Conference Travel Grant is intended to assist graduate students to participate at the annual International Conference on Thermoelectrics (ICT).  As part of our commitment to advancing research and training, the ITS will provides funding for 14 awards to graduate students.  Each award will carry a cash prize of US $500.

Call for Candidates to the 2015 Annual Outstanding Achievement in Thermoelectrics Award

The International Thermoelectric Society (ITS) announces the 2015 Outstanding Achievement in Thermoelectrics Award to recognize the outstanding achievements of a senior scientist for her/his contribution to the field of thermoelectricty. The award carries a cash prize of two thousand US dollars ($2000), honorary membership in the ITS and a Descriptive Certificate that will be presented at the Banquet of the 34th International Conference on Thermoelectrics (ICT 2015), in Dresden, Germany.  The award is co-sponsored by Komatsu Ltd.

Call for Candidates to the 2015 Annual Young Investigator Award

The International Thermoelectric Society (ITS) announces the 2015 ITS Young Investigator Award for Excellence in Research in Thermoelectrics by a young investigator holds a researcher/engineer position in either: academia, industry, government lab or scientific institute (e.g. The Max Planck Institute).  This award is to be given to a young researcher who has exhibited a record of excellent original work and significant results in the field of thermoelectrics or thermoelectric materials.  The recipient should have shown significant research in the early stages of his/her career.
