Auf Wiedersehen, Dresden; See You in Wuhan!

With the close of ICT 2015, the ITS bids adieu to Dresden, Germany.  A huge thank you goes out to ICT 2015 conference chair Dr. Yuri Grin, Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids, and his team for an outstanding job hosting what was one of the biggest conferences on thermoelectrics ever.  

We look forward to next year, when the ITS will meet in Wuhan, China for ICT 2016 on May 29 - June 2, 2016.  The conference will be chaired by Dr. Xinfeng Tang, Wuhan Unviersity of Technology.  Stay tunded for more details and a conference website.

See you in Wuhan!

ITS Board Election Results 2015

The terms of the following individuals as ITS Board members ended at the ICT in Dresden: Thierry Caillat (USA), Takao Mori (Japan), Ctirad Uher (USA), Hsin Wang (USA), Jihui Yang (USA). The following individuals were elected (or re-elected) to the Board to begin a three year term: Silke Buhler-Paschen (Austria), Takao Mori (Japan), and Jihui Yang (USA). Sabah Bux (USA), as conference chair of ICT 2017, has also been added to the Board.

Additionally, the ITS board has appointed Franck Gascoin (France) as secretary and Sabah Bux (USA) as treasurer.

2015 ITS Board Candidates

Four International Thermoelectric Society (ITS) Board Director positions will be opened for election at the 34th International Conference on Thermoelectrics, to be held in Dresden, Germany, June 28th-July 2th, 2015.

The Committee has made every effort to attract candidates from a variety of geographic, technical fields, and institutions, to best serve the Mission of the International Thermoelectric Society. The list of current Board Directors can be found here.

Dr. Sabah Bux selected for 2015 ITS Young Investigator Award - Partially Supported by Gentherm

Dr. Sabah Bux from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, USA, has been selected as the recipient of the 2015 International Thermoelectric Society Young Investigator Award. The award is partially sponsored with generous support from Gentherm, Inc. Dr. Bux received her PhD in chemistry in 2010 from the University of California – Los Angeles, and has been on the research staff at JPL since that time.  She has made several outstanding contributions to the synthesis, characterization, and understanding of bulk nanostructured materials. ITS announces 2015 Goldsmid and Graduate Student Award Winners

The International Thermoelectric Society is proud to announce that Mr. Lipeng Hu, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University, China, has been selected as the recipient of the 2015 ITS Goldsmid Award.
