Mr. May from California Institute of Technology, USA has been selected as the recipient of the 2010 International Thermoelectric Society Goldsmid Award. The International Thermoelectric Society (ITS) announces the 2010 Goldsmid Award for Excellence in Research in Thermoelectrics by a Graduate Student.

The award is sponsored by Marlow Industries, Inc. and carries a cash prize of one thousand dollars ($1000) and a Descriptive Certificate that will be presented at the Banquet of the 29th International Conference on Thermoelectrics (ICT 2010), in Shanghai, China..

In addition, the 2010 Award will include a US$1000 contribution to the awardee to cover travel and fees for attending ICT 2010, May– 30 – June 3, 2010 inShanghai, China.

The International Thermoelectric Society announces the 2008 Goldsmid Award for Excellence in Research in Thermoelectrics by a Graduate Student.

The award is sponsored by Marlow Industries, Inc. and carries a cash prize of one thousand dollars ($1000) and a Descriptive Certificate that will be presented at the Banquet of the 27th International Conference on Thermoelectrics (ICT2008) in Corvallis, Oregon, USA.

In addition, the 2008 Award will include a US$1000 contribution to the awardee to cover travel and fees for attending ICT2008 August 3-7, 2007 in Corvallis, Oregon, USA.

Pei, Zide win 2007 Goldsmid Award

Two graduate students, Mr. Yanzhong Pei of the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics (China) and Mr. Joshua Zide of UC Santa Barbara (US), met demanding standard to win the 2007 Goldsmid Award for Excellence in Research in Thermoelectrics by a Graduate Student. The Goldsmid Award, announced at the ICT2007 banquet, seeks to identify exceptional Ph.D. candidate graduate students who have made unusually notable contributions to thermoelectrics.

The International Thermoelectric Society announces the 2007 Goldsmid Award for Excellence in Research in Thermoelectrics by a Graduate Student.

The award is sponsored by Marlow Industries, Inc. and carries a cash prize of one thousand dollars ($1000) and a Descriptive Certificate and will be presented at the Banquet of the 26th International Conference on Thermoelectrics (ICT2007) on Jeju Island, South Korea.

Ronggui Yang of MIT (US) wins 2005 Goldsmid Award

Ronggui Yang of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology met demanding standard to win the 2005 Goldsmid Award for Excellence in Research in Thermoelectrics by a Graduate Student. The Goldsmid Award, presented to Mr. Yang at the ICT2005 banquet, seeks to identify exceptional Ph.D. candidate graduate students hwo have made unusually notable contributions to thermoelectrics. The 2005 award was sponsored again by Marlow Industries, Inc. and carries a cash award of US$1000 as well as an additional US$1000 to be used for travel and fees relate to attending the ICT.

Mr. Yang was unanimously recommended by the Award Committee. Selected papers by Mr. Yang considered by the selection committee are available through the ITS website through the new online thermoelectric bibliography 'ZTbib' available at:

The International Thermoelectric Society announces the 2005 Goldsmid Award for Excellence in Research in Thermoelectrics by a Graduate Student.

The award is sponsored by Marlow Industries, Inc. and carries a cash prize of one thousand dollars ($1000) and a Descriptive Certificate and will be presented at the Banquet of the 24th International Conference on Thermoelectrics in Clemson, SC, USA.

In addition, the 2005 Award will include up to US$1000 for travel and fees related to attending ICT2005 June 19-23, 2005 in Clemson, SC USA.

Eligibility:
Ph.D candidate graduate students holding a Master Degree or its equivalent who is actively engage in theoretical, experimental, synthesis or device research in the field of thermoelectrics.
