Up to three International Thermoelectric Society (ITS) Board Director positions will be opened for election at the 31th International Conference on Thermoelectrics, to be held in Aalborg, Denmark, July 9th-12nd, 2012.
The ITS Nomination and Election Committee invites you to nominate your candidate(s) by clicking here.
The Committee will make every effort to attract candidates from a variety of geographic, technical fields, and institutions, to best serve the Mission of the International Thermoelectric Society. The list of current Board Directors can be found here.
Board Directors are elected for a three-years term and are expected to play an active role in the international Thermoelectric Society business and promotion. The major goals (objectives) of the Society, as stated in the ITS Bylaws, are:
- TO PROMOTE an understanding of the role thermoelectric technology may play in environmental impact and mitigating global climate change;
- TO PROMOTE the advancement of the thermoelectric industry, science and engineering;
- TO PROMOTE collection and exchange of information and education which will benefit the thermoelectric community;
- TO PROMOTE systemization of measurements of transport parameters and TE devices.
- TO PROMOTE awareness of the larger community to thermoelectric issues and solicit wider involvement;
- TO PROMOTE various forums of exchange of information and achievements:
- TO PROMOTE a mechanism for coordinating and promoting conferences;
Please use the link on this website to submit your nominations. Nominations will be accepted until June 8th, 2012. Short biographies and information of the Nominees will be posted on the ITS web site at (http://www.its.org) shortly after.
The number of open positions will be finalized after the ITS Board meeting on Sunday July 8th, 2012. The election of the new Board Directors will be organized at the Conference in Aalborg, Denmark and further details will be announced at the beginning of the conference by the ITS President and the ITS Nomination and Election Committee.

Abstracts should be all-text and less than 300 words. Please ensure that you select an appropriate topic, and include all authors and affiliations.

I am an engineering doctor of School of Physics in Shandong University,China, graduated in July of 2011. And I have, during the doctor's research period, actively engaged myself in the area of thermoelectric material for 5 years, focusing particularly on the oxide thermoelectric material and module. I keenly desire to obtain a post-doc. Research position in a thermoelectric research group, and further continue the study of thermoelectric.
Most of my work has published in peer-viewed journals. So I can do academic writing by myself. Because of my excellent performance during post-graduate studies, I got some honors and awards, such as “Academic Creative Scholarship for PhD Students by Ministry of Education”, “Honor Graduate of Shandong Province”. I am an easy-going person and get along well with people. I hope that I can get a post-doc. position and make more contribution for our team with your help. Postdoc position in our research lab available immediately in the area of elastic strain engineering of nanostructures for efficient energy conversion. Postdoc should possess a Ph.D. in physical sciences and engineering. Experience with micro- and nanofabrication, transmission electron microscopy, and high-fidelity transport measurements is preferred.
