I am an engineering doctor of School of Physics in Shandong University,China, graduated in July of 2011. And I have, during the doctor's research period, actively engaged myself in the area of thermoelectric material for 5 years, focusing particularly on the oxide thermoelectric material and module. I keenly desire to obtain a post-doc. Research position in a thermoelectric research group, and further continue the study of thermoelectric.

Most of my work has published in peer-viewed journals. So I can do academic writing by myself. Because of my excellent performance during post-graduate studies, I got some honors and awards, such as “Academic Creative Scholarship for PhD Students by Ministry of Education”, “Honor Graduate of Shandong Province”. I am an easy-going person and get along well with people. I hope that I can get a post-doc. position and make more contribution for our team with your help. If more information about me is required, please write to me directly.

Thanks for your any possible help!

    Sincerely,

    Hongchao WANG

    Department Description
The Materials Physics Department conducts a broad and coordinated array of experimental and theoretical research to identify and understand the fundamental physical mechanisms underlying the surface, interface and transport behavior of a variety of advanced materials.  The department's materials physics and chemistry modeling/simulation expertise utilizes state-of-the-art density functional theory, molecular dynamics simulation techniques and quantum transport approaches.  The department has experimental expertise and resources for UHV technology, thin film preparation, nano-materials synthesis, microfabrication, and a wide range of advanced materials characterization techniques (e.g., AES, AFM, DRS, LEED, LEEM, LEIS, SIMS, and STM).
     How to Apply
Go to http://tinyurl.com/63rygus for job number 639148.

     Job Details
The Materials Physics Department seeks a Staff Scientist to develop and conduct a collaborative, experimental research program in the area of the fundamental physics of thermal and electrical transport in functional materials. The selected candidate will develop a world-class research program that will complement our existing materials programs in interfacial science, surface physics, and nanoscale transport. The program will be centered on detailed, quantitative thermal and electrical transport measurements, with a focus on nanostructured materials, taking full advantage of the nano-scale and atomic-resolution characterization and analysis available in our organization. Close coupling with other experimentalists and ab initio theorists in our department is expected.
     Required
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry or a closely related field; and a sustained record of research accomplishments in a post-doctoral or more advanced position.  They will have strong experimental background in performing measurements of fundamental carrier properties related to electronic and thermal transport. Published evidence of scientific leadership and stature is expected as is the ability to work in teams and establish strong collaborations, particularly with theorists in our department.
     Desired
We desire a colleague with deep understanding of the physics underpinning electronic and thermal transport in bulk and nanostructured semiconductors, with specific experience in thermoelectric materials. Also desired is knowledge of the scientific and technological issues that control the device-level performance of thermoelectric materials for both cooling and energy-harvesting applications. Finally, we desire a candidate with proven experience in program definition, program development, and program leadership.
     Security Clearance
Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications.

Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate DOE security clearance if required for a position.  Applicants offered employment with Sandia are subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for employment including access to classified information or matter.

Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied by the DOE, rendering the inability to perform the duties assigned and resulting in termination of employment.
     Citizenship
Sandia is a Department of Energy (DOE) national laboratory; as such, many of our jobs require a DOE security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.  If this position requires a Department of Energy (DOE)-granted security clearance, U.S. citizenship and employee eligibility for clearance processing will be required at the time of hire.

If you hold dual citizenship and you accept a job offer for a position that requires a DOE-granted security clearance, you will be asked by DOE to renounce your foreign citizenship and retain only your U.S. citizenship.
     Benefits
At Sandia you will receive many benefits as a valued employee of a premier national multi-program engineering and science research laboratory.  In our Total Rewards package you will enjoy competitive pay, great benefits, a stimulating, positive environment and learning opportunities that will help build your career.  More information may be found on our Careers website.
     EEO
Sandia National Laboratories is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V.
