The Laboratory of Condensed Matter Chemistry of the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) invites applications for a postodoctoral position in Thermoelectric Materials. This position will be funded by the European project ERC-2DTHERMS. The term of employment for this position is 2 years.
The successful candidate will focus on the growth and characterization of thin-films and multilayers of different oxides, and so a strong background in thin-film preparation by Pulsed Laser Deposition and characterization techniques (X-ray diffraction, low temperature conductivity, Hall, etc) is required. The final goal is to explore the effect of electrostatic doping on the thermoelectric properties of these systems.
A PhD in Condensed Matter Physics/Chemistry or Materials Science is required.
Spanish is not needed, but English is required.
The Laboratory of Condensed Matter Chemistry is a part of CIQUS (http://www.usc.es/ciqus/en), a research center in Chemical Biology and Molecular Materials, integrating more than 150 researchers, including Professors, Postdocs and PhD students. The USC (http://www.usc.es/en/index.html) is an internationally recognized university, with more than 25000 students and close to 3000 employees. The University is located at the heart of the historical city of Santiago de Compostela, which offers an excellent cultural environment.
