We are seeking a post-doctoral researcher to synthesise and characterise new thermoelectric materials for applications in energy harvesting. This EPSRC -supported project will be carried out in collaboration with Loughborough and Cardiff Universities. Work will be principally directed towards new intermetallic phases, primarily complex antimonides. The project will involve a blend of synthesis, structural characterisation and physical property measurements
You will have:
- Experience of synthetic solid-state chemistry, the collection and analysis of X-ray and neutron diffraction data and the interpretation of physical property data.
- A very good undergraduate degree in Chemistry and a PhD in solid-state chemistry, materials or a related field.
- Excellent oral and written communication and the ability to collate and prepare reports
- The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
