Dear Colleague,

I'm writing to request your help in recruiting a postdoctoral
fellow for our Surface Chemical Dynamics Laboratory at the University
of Virginia. I'd be most appreciative if you could relay the
following information to appropriate candidates that you may know.

Postdoctoral Position Available in Surface Chemical Dynamics
at the University of Virginia

A postdoctoral position is available in experimental surface
science at the University of Virginia starting this Fall of 2000.
Research will explore the photochemical dynamics and activation of
small molecules on alkali promoted transition metal surfaces using
nanosecond and femtosecond laser and uhv surface analytical
techniques. A strong background in surface chemistry and/or surface
physics is required. Special consideration will be given to
candidates with prior research experience involving uhv surface
science, laser-induced surface phenomena, 2-photon photoemission, or
scanning probe microscopy. The exact starting date of the position is
flexible. The initial appointment will be for one year, renewable for
at least one further year by mutual agreement. The University of
Virginia is an equal opportunity employer.

Interested applicants should send a curriculum vitae and two letters
of recommendation to
