So.  You are looking for information about the "Test of English as a Foreign Language" (aka TOEFL)?

We have good news and bad news for you.

The good news is:  you can find information on TOEFL by going to the Educational Testing Service (http://www.ets.org/toefl/) website.  That should get you started.

The bad news is:  you may need some work on your test-taking skills.  This website, as perhaps you have noticed by now, is about Thermoelectrics and has nothing whatever to do with the TOEFL exams.   Even though the spelling (ets.org vs. its.org) is similar, the meaning is entirely different.  The context (i.e. the fact that this website is about thermoelectrics, and not testing) might have been a clue for you.

Although you have not had a particularly auspicious start, we wish you the best of luck on your exams.

Thermoelectric News - Archives

In the early years of the International Thermoelectric Society a newsletter "Thermoelectric News" was printed and mailed to members once or twice a year. Eleven issues were published, ten of which are attached below. Volume 9 from 1997 is not presently available. If anyone has a copy, please contact the ITS webmaster and we will post it here.

Three Thermoelectric Directories (1994-6) were also published and distributed. Each of these documents are made available as attachements below.

The Thermoelectrics Society of Japan

Contributed by Hiraoki Anno

The Thermoelectrics Society of Japan (TSJ) was established in 2004 with an aim to promote the development of thermoelectric industry, science and technology.

Other TE Societies

The International Thermoelectric Society is not the only society focused on thermoelectrics. I am aware of a number of organizations with primary interest in, or strong emphasis on, thermoelectric energy conversion. Details for Societies I have specific information on in included in ZT Links and include:

International Thermoelectric Society

European Thermoelectric Society

International Academy of Refrigeration (Russia)

Spanish Thermoelectric Association (Spain)

International Thermoelectric Academy (Ukraine)

Thermoelectrics Society of Japan (TSJ, Japan)

If someone will send me further details on other thermoelectric Societies around the world, I will post the information here.

FAQs for Prospective ICT orgnaizers

FAQs for Prospective ICT orgnaizers

The International Thermoelectric Society organizes an annual conference, the International Conference on Thermoelectrics, as the defining activity of the Society. As such ITS has an interest in holding the highest quality conference possible and generally provides the local organizing committee considerable latitude. Yet some guidelines for expectations may be of some help. This note contains information which should be of interest to prospective conference organizers. A brief description of the general solicitation and selection process, support ITS may provide the local organizing committee (LOC) and what is typically expected from the LOC are provided.
