Im looking for a high performance thermoelectric material in the temperature range of 100-150C.


Does anyone know such material?

Sign of material's thermopower

Hi,

 

I am abit confused regarding how to determine the sign of the seebeck coefficient.

S= [delta V]/ [delta T]

where both values are Hot - Cold

Is this the right defination?, there are also claims that there should be a negative sign in front of it which is kind of confusing.

And normally when you measure the thermopower of a material with respect to a material let say its copper, do you minus or plus to get the absolute thermoelectric power? I've read various journal which minus and plus.

Using Ansys 12 for thermal-electric applications

hey guys,

I am having abit of trouble using ansys 12 doing just a simple thermal-electric(peltier effec) simulation. Since there was no tutorial available, do anyone of you all know what's the boundary condition needed to be set before running the simulation? I have set the voltage and the initial hot end temperature.

Anatychuk To Investigate Thermoelectric Behavior Of Metal Dental Fillings

It looks as though the scientific community may soon be no longer completely ignorant of the thermoelectric behavior of metallic dental restorations.

The Difference Between an Alloy and an Amalgam - It's Thermoelectric

The following statement was made by Professor Xu Wang of the University of Akron in response to a question regarding the relationship between the thermoelectric properties and the electromagnetic behavior of metal amalgam dental fillings.

"Theoretically electromagnetic field will be generated by thermal gradient. But the thermoelectric coupling parameter in most metals is very low (0.001-0.01). So I don't think the induced electromagnetic field is significant enough to influence the neurological tissue nearby."

Thermoelectric Eddy Currents in Metal Dental Fillings

The article entitled "Basics of Thermoelectric Effect with Magnetic Readout", by Johann H. Hinken and Yury Tavrin, shows a schematic diagram of the thermoelectric eddy current and associated electromagnetic field which are produced whenever a thermal gradient is maintained across an element* of one electrically conductive material which is completely enclosed within another dissimilar conductor.
